You are always in control of your data. This page explains how to delete your Al Islam account (com.pakdeen.alislam), exactly what is removed, what stays on your device, and how long it takes.
Before you start
Deleting your account is permanent and cannot be undone. There is no recovery window and no way to restore an account once it has been removed.
Two things are worth checking first, because neither happens automatically:
- If you have an active Premium subscription, cancel it separately. Deleting your Al Islam account does not cancel a Google Play subscription — subscriptions belong to your Google account, not to ours. Cancel it in Google Play → Subscriptions before or after deleting, or you will continue to be billed. See Premium.
- If you want a copy of anything, take it first. Once your account is gone, so is anything that was only on our servers. Your Collections and notes can be exported or copied from the app before you delete.
How to request deletion
Email support.alislam@lymrah.com from the address linked to your account, asking for your account to be deleted.
Sending from the linked address is what lets us confirm the request is genuinely yours. If you no longer have access to that address, write to us anyway and we will work out another way to verify you.
You will receive confirmation when the deletion has been completed.
What is deleted
Everything associated with your account on our servers:

What is not on our servers to begin with
This is the part most worth understanding, because it changes what deleting your account actually achieves.
Most of Al Islam never sends anything anywhere. The following live only on your device, and have never been uploaded, so account deletion does not touch them and does not need to:
- Reading history, streaks, and activity statistics
- Search history
- Tasbeeh counts, routines, and long-term statistics
- Prayer time settings and location profiles
- Hijri calendar events, reminders, and fasting logs
- Text customization settings and any fonts you imported
- Your AI provider keys and saved AI translations
- Any Collections you kept locally without enabling cloud backup
To remove those, uninstall the app — or clear its data from Android Settings if you want to keep it installed. Deleting your account and uninstalling the app are two separate actions, and doing one does not do the other.
If your goal is simply to stop using the account on a particular phone, signing out is enough and removes nothing.
What may be retained
A small amount of information survives deletion, for reasons we cannot avoid:
- Billing and subscription records, where they are required by Google Play or by law for tax and accounting purposes. These are held by Google Play as the payment processor; we do not hold your payment details at any point.
- Anonymised, aggregated diagnostics — crash and error reports that contain no personal content and cannot be linked back to you. These carry technical information only: an error, a stack trace, a device model, an app version.
- Records we are legally required to keep, for as long as the relevant law requires.
Nothing retained can be used to identify you or to reconstruct your account.
How long it takes
Deletion is completed within 30 days of your request, and usually much sooner.
The 30-day figure is an outer limit that accounts for backup rotation — copies of data held for disaster recovery expire on their own schedule, and your data is purged from those as they cycle.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to delete my account to stop syncing?
No. Turning off cloud backup in the app stops syncing immediately and leaves your local data untouched. Your account stays, and you can turn backup on again later.
Will deleting my account remove Al Islam from my phone?
No. Account deletion removes your data from our servers. The app stays installed, and everything stored locally stays with it. Uninstall the app to remove local data.
Can I use the app after deleting my account?
Yes. Al Islam works fully without an account — Quran, Hadith, Prayer Times, Qibla, the Hijri Calendar, Tasbeeh, Notes, Search, Collections and History are all available without signing in. You would simply have no cloud backup and no Premium entitlement.
What happens to my Premium subscription?
Nothing, unless you cancel it. A subscription is held by Google Play against your Google account and is entirely separate from your Al Islam account. Cancel it in Google Play, or billing continues even though the account it unlocked no longer exists.
What happens to my AI provider keys?
They were never on our servers. Keys are encrypted on your device and are never transmitted, never included in backup, and never visible to us. They are removed when you delete the connection in the app, clear the app's data, or uninstall.
Can I delete my account and keep my notes?
Yes. Notes live inside your Collections on your device. Deleting your account removes the synced copy on our servers; the copy on your phone remains until you uninstall or clear the app's data.
Can I create a new account with the same email later?
Yes. The address is released when the old account is deleted. A new account starts empty — nothing from the deleted one can be recovered or carried over.
I deleted my account by mistake. Can you restore it?
No. Deletion is permanent, and we have no mechanism to reverse it.
